Botswana IFSC Board of Directors

The Botswana IFSC, through its Board of Directors endorses the standards of the best practice on Corporate Governance. The Company believes that proper governance facilitates effective management and control of the activities of its operations. This, in turn, enables the Company to maintain a high level of business ethics and to optimize the value for all its stakeholders.

The Board consists of a Non-Executive Chairperson, the Chief Executive Officer, and other Directors drawn from the public, parastatal, and private sectors. Seven of the eight Directors are non-executive and independent of the Management and, between them, have a wide range of experience at senior levels. Non-Executive Directors bring an independent judgment on issues of strategy, performance, resources, key appointments, and standards of conduct.

The Board meets at least four times a year and retains full and effective control over the Company, monitors the Executive Management and ensures that decisions of material matters are in its hands. The Botswana IFSC Board of Directors is responsible for driving the commercial strategy of the Botswana IFSC. It has as its primary role to establish, develop and promote the Botswana IFSC and develop Botswana as a world class.
